Waffle is a very famous household name in European countries like Belgium, France, and Netherlands. The fancy word is directly derived from the Dutch wafel, meaning honeycomb or cake. Few outlets in Bangalore serve actual and authentic waffle, Waffle Walle is one amongst the firsts to do so. The best part about waffle is that it can be tailored with no confines that have resulted in enormous number of options to opt from. Waffle Walle serves- Brussels and liege variants, both having their individual characteristics and exclusivity. I shall be covering a hand full of them in this post.
I was in Chinnaswamy Naidu Biriyani on the occasion of Bloggers Meet hosted by Food Bloggers Association, Bangalore (FBAB). It is a newly opened restaurant and has added the much needed variety of Biriyani available in Bangalore. Heritage of this place dates back to 1920’s. Chinnaswamy’s (Founder of this Biriyani house) family lived in Dindigul area of Tamil Nadu and migrated to Hosur after Independence. He gathered a lot of recipes that were unique in taste and preparation and has passed on through the generations. Currently, it is Mr Suresh Babu Naidu who is carrying forward the forgotten recipes for our generation in the form of this restaurant.
Underdog’s is a renowned sports bar having its roots set in Northern India. It is well established and there is no doubt about it as the place has won tons of awards, to name a few- Times Nightlife Award, Beer in a bar by zomato, Best sports bar & grill by NDTV Profit, Best restobar by Indian Restaurant awards and winning the title at the Coco Cola Golden Spoons awards. USP of Underdoggs is the way it provides sporting fun with unique drinks and a fabulous menu.
Indian Paratha Company (IPC) is an up-scale Coffee shop founded in August, 2014. Yes the place is relatively new but has caught the attention of countless travellers in a short span of time. All credit goes to its European look and feel, presentation and styling of dishes and moreover- the focus given on serving high quality Indian snacks. Paratha is by far the most consumed food in Indian highway scenario, mainly because of its simple, stomach filling and easy on pocket nature. It has its origin from Northern India, but the art of making it is well mastered by IPC.
The folks behind FBAB never get tired of surprising us with their creativity in choosing events. So this time a teaser was given well in advance in the form of a out-of-city eat out, basically a drive+dine event. This got me excited and even more when it was announced that Malgudi Vattika is going to host the 22nd Food Bloggers Association, Bangalore (FBAB) meetup! I keep frequenting Coorg (my home town) and was bored with the usual offerings on this road. Now that i was introduced to this nicely built themed restaurant, I know my breakfast/lunch spot during my next visit!
Paradise, a legend since 1953- have managed to call themselves World’s Favourite Biriyani and my experience here totally justified it. This was my first visit to Paradise (overall) and my experience here was phenomenal.
