Country Inn and Suites from Outside
Finding Country Inn is not going to be a problem at all as it is a tall building housed on the same road where the world famous Infosys training center is located. This property has 130 classic rooms with 12 suites marking as one of the largest inventory available in Mysore city.

Gym

Children Fun Zone
It also has a roof top swimming pool, a dedicated Banquet hall with state of the art facilities, spa, a full fledged gym, a dedicated business center with two private meeting rooms, children’s fun zone, two traditional Mysuru artifacts shops.

In House Store
We left Bangalore early in the afternoon and it took us around 3.5-4 hours to reach Mysore, thanks to the safe and sound driving of my friend that we reached a bit late!! Mr Manikandan from Country Inn along with his team welcomed us with traditional garland and Teeka, and this marked the beginning of our two day stay in this property. We also met Executive Chef Dipayan Chanda who gave us lot of useful insights about the stay and dining aspects of this place.

Reception Lounge
We reached our suite and boy it was massive, close to 560 square feet area!! The entire suite was divided into 3 parts – Living room, bedroom and a relatively huge sit out area.

Bedroom with a view!

Your dose of entertainment – TV!
The room was equipped with all modern amenities, some of which are Electronic safe, a console that could centrally control lighting/AC units, bathtub, mini bar (filled with interesting set of drinks) and a coffee machine. Wi-fi connectivity was strong inside every nook and corner of the entire property.

Outside Seating Area
All of this might sound good for someone travelling on business or with a set of family members, if you want that cosy recreational stay here then there are various other suite options for almost every budget here.

Those quick bites!

Central console to control AC and lightings
They also have brilliant spa facility which has 4 state of the art treatment rooms offering 6 variants of spa namely – Indonesian, Thai, R3 Signature, Aroma, Deep Tissue and Relaxing Massage. Well, I had the Aroma massage which is believed to be an alternative therapeutic technique to promote whole body healing, pain relieving along with mood enhancement. This was followed by steam bath and shower, a worthwhile experience altogether.
Lets get started to the most interesting part about my stay here – Food and Beverages! Country Inn and Suites, Mysore has various dining options including an excellent room delivery menu. Some noteworthy dining options here are:
- Mosaic – which is the 24 hours coffee shop
- Spice – Indian cuisine restaurant
- Pool Bar & Grill – the pool side cocktail lounge
POOL BAR & GRILL

Bar Counter at Pool Bar and Grill
We had our dinner at Pool Bar and Grill and it was an extensive display of great culinary skills by Executive Chef Dipayan Chanda and his team. The place faces the pool which has a super large projector displaying your favorite game. An ideal place for that romantic dinner by the pool side!

Starters Part – 1
The elaborate dinner started with Masala Peanut in Potato Basket, Tandoori Chicken, Mutton Galauti Kebab, Tawa Fried Fish, Honey Chili Fish, Paneer Ghee Roast and Coorg Chicken. I loved the way Coorg Chicken was prepared with hints of pepper and other spices making it very tempting. Honey Chili Fish was nicely done with soft fresh fish cooked in medium spices and glazed with honey, the taste of which can be very subjective.

Starters Part – 2
We were served with different salads throughout the dinner, some of them were Poached Mushroom ala Greek, Grilled Pineapple Salad and Char Grilled Vegetable Coronation Salad.

Salads
Main course was Baked Ratatouille (chef’s special) which had red pepper coulis along with Parmesan shavings, this was followed by Pan seared South Western Chicken which was a flavorful mix of roast potato, sauteed vegetables in red wine jus. Appam with Chicken Stew is also a good option here if you wanna go light and easy. We were super full by now but the sight of Awadhi Mutton Biryani made us feel hungry again and we happily emptied most of it!

Main Course Spread

Awadhi Mutton Biryani
Dessert options here are as exclusive as the place itself, we had – Baked Rasgulla, Chocolate Silk Cake Basket, Strawberry Millefeuille and Sacher Torte and Elneer Paysassam.

Dessert Platter
After the wholesome dinner we took on to the roads with a friend’s friend and ended up driving to Chamundi Hills.. You can see over 50% of Mysore from there and the sight of it makes you wanna stay there for more! Unfortunately our day had to start early next day and we headed back to our Suites.. It was close of day-1!
Thanks to the travel and an adventurous night, we ended up getting up late! We visited a temple which is located adjacent to the hotel, it is believed to be over 300 year old and the atmosphere around it was calm and divine.. Nice way to start our day 🙂
MOSAIC

Food Counter at Mosaic

Lovely Setup
We headed over to Mosaic for a quick breakfast. The spread consists of fresh baked delights, cold cuts, cakes, dishes from Indian and Continental cuisine and lot of fresh juices to choose from. There is live counter to order a variety of egg preparations and we ordered Masala Omelette to start off with.

Masala Omelette
Gradually our table kept getting occupied and finally it was one picture friendly spread. We had sausages, baked beans, Rawa Idly and Uddina Vada. For me the highlight of our breakfast was the famous Mysore Masala Dosa which was spot on in terms of the color and texture, it tasted brilliant with the red chutney spread evenly inside the Dosa.

Our Super Massive Breakfast Spread
It was early in the afternoon by the time we finished breakfast, time to pack up as we had to head back to Bangalore. But the foodie inside us wanted to check out the lunch option at Mosaic so we went down again and witnessed a beautiful spread… The restaurant boasts of having over 30 varieties mostly inspired by Indian cuisine.

Salads available for Lunch

Main Course options
I liked the salad options here, and ended up ordering Egg Salad which blew me away with its simplicity. We were stuffed and hence ended up having Pani Puri, the Pani was nice and spicy and the Puri was crispy.

This is what we ate!
I had a quick glance at the desserts and decided to try the Strawberry Mousse, which is available in Egg-less and Sugar Free avatar!

Dessert choices Part – 1
It was time to bid goodbye to the wonderful folks here who ensured that each and everything was managed without a glitch, a big shout out to the Executive Chef Dipayan Chanda who was a perfect host throughout our stay here. I would also like to thank Mr Manikandan who arranged and scheduled the entire FAM trip in a very efficient manner. Country Inn has got all the elements to make your stay luxurious and memorable, be it a business visit or a family outing, the place makes you feel at home away from home!
