Food e is a colorful lil cafe/restaurant housed prominently near Maharaja Signal on the main road, the place is known for its dishes that are born out of various interesting permutation and combinations between Indian and western cuisine. You can also get your hands at traditional lip smacking Indian preparations if you are reluctant experiment with the fusion options available here.
I was here for a bloggers meet along with other blogger friends and we did not pay for the meal as it was on an invite. We started with Litchi Splash which is a perfect thirst quencher/cooler and builds your appetite in the best possible way as the drink doesn’t sit heavy on your tummy. If you prefer ice cream shakes then do check out the Brownie Cinnamon Twist or the Paan Shot among a host of other options.
Menu lists a number of items under various sections and choosing dishes can get confusing, but then you have helpful staff who are always ready to help you order the right dish. We started our munching session, vegetarian folks gorged on Corn Bhel Nachos and Paneer Pakodas, and we carnivorous people jumped on to Wings platter and Spicy Wok Tossed Chicken. Corn Bhel here are spicy nachos tossed with fresh corn, roasted peanuts and chopped veggies to make it look like Bhel, the in house tamarind chutney made it taste like one. Wings Platter is a good option if you want contrasting tastes in one platter, you get Chilli, Honey Sesame and Pudina and Fiery wings, each of these are seared with in house special sauces.
For main course we had Kerala Chicken Rice Bowl, this dish stood out and worked best for me, you get juicy chicken pieces cooked in traditional Kerala style with mustard, curry leaves, pepper and coconut and placed over a bed of rice sauteed with onions and cashew. We then had Palak Paneer rice and Kadai pasta, Pasta was amazing and the blend of special Kadai masala with spicy sauce gives the entire dish a very unique flavor. Hariyali Pasta is another Desified version which has Pahadi spices along with coriander and mint, I tried the chicken variant… the same is available as vegetarian option.
Shrimp Masala noodle bowl is one filling dish, the bed of flavored noodles sautéed with mixed vegetables and baby shrimps are cooked in oriental style is a good buy if you are in a mood to try out some extremely well made seafood delicacies.
Well, we did realize that even though the place looks like a small joint from outside, the variety of options to dine in here are super vast. Fusion food is something which is the in thing right now and Food-E has managed to provide the same to everyone at prices which are easy on the pocket as well. Definitely a must visit if you are in a mood to try something innovative or even otherwise.
