We were presented with a set menu that featured an exquisite array of dishes over an extensive set of meal courses. Amous Bouche was Pizza Montanara, these fried pizzas were nicely brought together and filled with tomato and buffalo mozzarella.
Antipasti for non-vegetarian folks was Carpaccio d’ antra affumicata, ravanelli sot ‘a ETO, miele, salsa alla soya, in short, it was smoked cured duck breast topped with pickled radish, honey and soy dressing, the combination of sauces gave this dish a sweetish tinge overall… the highlight here was extremely well-cooked duck and the apple chips which left us all wondering how it was made!
We then had pumpkin and sundried tomatoes lightly fried and served with rocket salad, goat cheese mousse and cherry tomato confit, if you want to go by what the dish looks like in the menu then here you go – Insalata di Rucola e Zucca, mouse di caprino, salsa al Balsamico e Pomodorini confit. Next course of the meal was Marinated Seared Seabass stewed in a rich sauce made from tomato, olive and capers
and finally topped with zucchini.
Our elaborate dinner came to an end with Crostata di Frutta Fresca, fruit tart with a not so crumbly base and filled with rich custard and a layer of exotic fruits.
Overall, It was a nicely paced dinner where Chef Nicola came in regularly and explained what went into the making of every dish.
