A couple of weeks back Grubitizer was in the Cultural Capital of Namma Karnataka, basically to visit the uber classy property of Country Inn & Suites by Carlson! What brought me here was an invite to cover the launch of an exquisite food festival to celebrate the flavors of Asian regions. A visit to Mysore calls for a staycation and Country Inn did provide us with their best offerings, so read on to know more 🙂

 

 

For starters, Country Inn & Suites by Carlson, Mysore is a part of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group that has its presence spread across 115 countries, they are in the industry with over 75 years of experience and that makes things even better! This property, in particular, is strategically located in the vicinity of Mysore, 12 km’s to give an exact count. They have good company in terms of neighbors which is the Infosys Training Centre.

 

 

So, as usual, we left Bangalore early in the morning and after countless pit stops on the way we ended up reaching Country Inn by around 2 PM! The first bit is obviously welcome and the minute you enter the staff makes sure that you are entering your comfort zone – A refreshing drink is served, wet tissues are handed over, a traditional welcome in the form of Aarti and Garland will definitely make you feel special. The South East Asian Food Festival is on from 9^th Aug to 8^th September and is available from 7 PM to 11 PM. The press conference went on well that was followed by our preview dinner. We started with the Thai Corn Cakes and Prawn Cigars and a host of other starters that pleased all of us. The main course was Seafood Teppanyaki and Thai Red Curry with Jasmine Rice.

 

 

BTW, there are other dishes that are part of the food festival like the Chicken Shumai, Panthay Noodles from Thailand, Chicken Satay with Peanut Sauce, Pla Nam Prik and Chicken Penang Curry from Malaysia, Oriental picked vegetables and the famous Khao Suey from Myanmar along to name a few. This food festival is inspired by cuisines from Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia. Chef Dipayan also mentioned that over 80% of the ingredients are directly sourced from the native countries to make the dishes taste as authentic as they can be.

 

 

 

 

Next day was eventful, we started off with a walk across the entire property to understand the various facilities available and I must say that as a package it is quite impressive.

 

 

Availability of a World Class Spa facility is one of the many USPs that Country Inn has in its offerings. It has 4 treatment rooms that are scented to perfection and mild music is played to make your spa feel complete from all aspects of human senses. They offer 7 variants of Massages – Indonesian, Royal Thai, Aroma Therapy, Deep Tissue, Balinese, Relaxing Massage and the R3 Signature. I went in for the R3 Signature that lasts a good 90 minutes, this one is done with extra pressure and combines the best of probably all the options I listed above. I then sat in the steam room that is good enough to accommodate 6-7 people in one go.

 

 

We were set to explore the other rooftop restaurant that also doubles up as the poolside romantic place! Grover Zampa Soiree Brut was giving us a perfect company and it was the time we munched on some more good food, the recommendation from the staff made us order Fish Fingers, Malai Murg Kebab, and Spicy Tandoori Prawns… I instantly fell in love with the Murg Malai Tikka, even though it did not go well with the Wine but the creaminess and super soft texture made it melt in the mouth the minute you bite into them.

 

 

Well, it was time to say Goodbye to this lovely property and with the kind of hospitality offered here, this will remain my go-to place to crash whenever I’m in and around Mysore.
