If you are among the many folks who are fond of the traditionally rich cuisine from Lucknowi region then a trip to Infinity, The Zuri Whitefield, Bengaluru is a mandatory affair before the 13th of May. They are hosting a limited period food festival that is sure to take you on an unforgettable gastronomic journey to the princely state of Awadh. The special menu comprises of loads of dishes curated carefully under the guidance of Executive Chef Vijay David, read on to know more about my dining experience.
Whitefield used to be one of those places where folks of Bangalore had to think twice before heading there, there are two main reasons for this: 1) Lot of IT parks which remind you of your workplace 2) Scarcity of good restaurants and pubs. Well, I can’t comment about the former as that is still the case with most of us 😀 but, in recent times there has been an upward trend in the quality of restaurants you find in Whitefield. I remember everyone in our office going gaga over Whitefield Social when it was launched, soon there were players like Beer Cafe, The Irish House and Biergarten that came into existence and all of a sudden you realize that Whitefield is not a bad place at all! This post talks about The Whitefield Arms which is a part of The Waverly Hotel & Residences group. TWA is a modern British styled pub located in a peaceful corner of VR Bengaluru.
Onam is a very special festival for the folks of Kerala and holds significant traditional values to every element that is associated with it. Pookalam, Onam Sadya, boat race along with dance and music ensure that the festival is celebrated with much fanfare. M Cafe, Marriott Whitefield decided to treat its loyalists from across the continent with Onam Sadya, a feast comprising of over 26 dishes which is served on plantain leaf. Chef Mahesh along with Chef Thirumal curated a wonderful multi course meal which was offered from 12th to 17th September. Since this was my first attempt at trying Onam Sadya I was looking forward to a great experience.
I would like to share a quote by Ernest Hemingway which goes like this – “As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy and to make plans.”. The quote tries its best to showcase the beauty of pairing wine with your favorite food and vice versa.
Benjamin Franklin once quoted, “Beer is a proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy”. Beer Cafe is one such place which is on a continuous streak to spread happiness and joy which revolves around beer. This brand has launched its third outlet in Bangalore at VR Bengaluru Mall, Whitefield. If you are looking for a one of a kind experience to unwind after a tiring day at work, then Beer Cafe is the place to be. I was here for a bloggers meet to celebrate the International Beer day which also included a preview of Beerosphere, a new line of merchandise comprising over 30 products across various categories.
