UB City barely needs any introduction in Namma Bengaluru, the fact that it is one of the first luxury malls to come up in India speaks for itself! This architectural marvel is easily the most famous structure in Bangalore. This multiple award winning legacy is a venture by UB Group. Constructed in a span of 4 years between 2004 and 2008, it was fully operational from January 2008. Since then UB City is known for a lot of things which are synonymous with opulence and luxury. Their ample parking space can accommodate 1600 vehicles which is by far the highest I have seen in a mall.
Where is UB City located?
It is located on Vittal Mallya Road and can be spotted with ease due to its landmark eminence. UB City is approximately 1.5 Kms away from MG Road Metro Station, which makes it an essential part of Central Business District (CBD) area.
What is UB City known for?
This is by far the most interesting bit of this article, what you get here is nothing short of brilliance, pure luxury brands that are scarcely found elsewhere in Bangalore. The shopping arena is spread across 3 floors that offer a gigantic measurement of over 1 lakh square feet (sqft). The count of brands stands at 40. The portfolio ranges from exquisite jewelry to home and lifestyle accessories. Some of the major brands which have their presence here are – Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Canali, Estee Lauder, Rolex, Jimmy Choo, Diesel, Ducati. If you love your four wheeled companion and want to pamper her in style, then you have the 3M Car Care at your service.
Overall, visiting UB City is an experience in itself. It definitely lives up to its billing of being a luxury mall in India. The other place which comes closer to UB City is the DLF Emporio mall in Gurgaon.
Sublime Galleria:
It is an exceptional art gallery which was launched in Nov 2011. The gallery is located on the eight floor which is a customary destination for some of the most happening Art pageants in Bangalore. It was incepted by Ms. Uzma Irfan, Executive Director – Corporate Communications, Prestige Group to support and promote the values of Fine Arts. Sublime Galleria has a very rich portfolio of artists who have done sensations here with their splendid exhibits. It is also known for hosting various workshops in Art, Music and Theatre, primarily to discover talents and provide them a platform. You can reach them at by clicking here to get further accessible information.
Sublime House of Tea:
The name sounds familiar with what you just read, right? Well, this is because Sublime House of Tea is another endeavor started by Ms. Uzma Irfan, the person who pioneered Sublime Galleria. It is a brand focused on making subtle blends of gourmet tea in various premium flavors. Their wide range of Tea includes Black, Green and the traditional White tea with different set of blends in each category. I liked the way tea bags are packed in transparent bags which associates you with the ingredients from the moment you see them. I tried two variants- the ‘Rose in Bloom’ and ‘Jasmine Mandarin’, both being lightly colored.
I first had the Rose in Bloom, and the first thing that strikes you is the floral aroma. One spoonful slurp was enough to understand the high quality of preparation you get at the end of it. The aroma does linger for a longer time giving you a sweetish flavor overall. Jasmine Mandarin is a premium green tea with infused Jasmine flower, it was less floral when compared to Rose and was slightly stronger. Click here to know more about Sublime House of Tea. These can be bought online as well as offline from major retail outlets.
The experience shared here is based on the two day long food crawl which spanned across 8 restaurants in UB City. I was accompanied by other food bloggers who were equally enthusiastic about this meet up. Detailed write up of these restaurants will be covered in my next couple of posts, so stay tuned to Grubitizer!
